Lake Elsinore Taps New City Manager

Lake Elsinore has promoted its assistant city manager, Jason Simpson, to the top administrator’s job. Simpson will succeed current city manager Grant Yates who is retiring. His start date is March 1.

Simpson has been with this city for nearly 7 years. He previously held management posts in the cities of Temecula, San Bernardino, Desert Hot Springs, Indio, Costa Mesa and Vallejo. He has been involved with several development projects in Lake Elsinore, including Rosetta Canyon Sports Park, Launch Pointe, and the Dream Extreme Neighborhood Center.

Simpson earned his bachelor’s in Business Administration from Biola University. He belongs to the California City Management Foundation, Government Finance Officers Association, California Municipal Finance Officers Association, and the California Municipal Treasurers Association.
