Marysville Hires New City Manager

Marysville has hired Fresno Assistant City Manager Jim Schaad as its next top administrator. Schaad was among 45 candidates vying to replace Marti Brown, who was terminated last year without cause.

“It is an honor to be selected as Marysville’s City Manager,” Shaad said. “I am looking forward to working with the City Council, staff and the community at large to provide the best possible service to residents and make meaningful positive changes to their quality of life.”

Shaad holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology from California State University, Fresno, where he also worked as an adjunct professor. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Portland University.

Schaad has been with the City of Fresno for 16 years. He assumes his new position March 1.
