CTC Approves $1.4 Billion in Transportation Improvement Projects

The California Transportation Commission (CTC) has allocated $1.4 billion for transportation improvement projects across California. More than half of the investment — $884 million — will come from SB 1 or the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.

“California continues to make significant investments in fixing our roads, highways, bridges and transit systems,” said Caltrans Director Toks Omishakin. “SB 1 is critical to making these repairs and upgrades, while also supporting thousands of jobs that are essential for our economy.”

The improvement projects include:

• Bridge Replacement Project in Glenn County ($110.9 million)
• Pavement Project on I-80 in Nevada County ($25.7 million)
• Light rail vehicle acquisition for the Sacramento Regional Transit District ($23.6 million)
• Traffic Management Project on SR-99 in Sacramento County ($13.9 million)
• Bridge Project on SR-70 in Yuba County ($12.2 million)
• Hanlon Lead Railroad bridge replacement in Oakland, Alameda County ($11.7 million)
• East Basin Rail Gateway expansion at the Port of Long Beach ($8 million)
• Signal optimization at BNSF junction control point for the Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo Rail Corridor Agency ($5 million)
• El Monte Station grade crossing safety improvements ($2.29 million)
