Over the past several years, UFO sightings have gone mainstream. The Pentagon has confirmed that military personnel have been witnessing unexplained aerial phenomena for decades. The government has even declassified videos of some of these encounters, including a now infamous 2004 incident off the San Diego coast involving the US Navy’s Nimitz Carrier Strike Group.
San Diego isn’t the only place where UFOs have been spotted in California. Numerous Golden State cities have had encounters with mysterious objects in the sky. Some of them have had multiple reports over the years.
24/7 Wall St just put out a list of cities with the most UFO sightings from 2001 to 2020. It based the rankings on data provided by Cheryl Costa and Linda Miller, authors of “UFO Sightings Desk Reference: United States of America 2001-2020P.”
These were the top cities for UFO sightings in California:
No. 49: Modesto - 166 total sightings (78.08 per 100,000)
No. 48: Sacramento - 400 total sightings (79.85 per 100,000)
No. 37: Santa Rosa - 164 total sightings (91.26 per 100,000)
No. 20: Burbank - 152 total sightings (146.57 per 100,000)
No. 4: Patterson - 190 total sightings (100.7 per 100,000)
Look to the night skies in one of these cities this Halloween. You just might see something.
