Palmdale Hires Ronda Perez as City Manager, Solidifying Historic All-Female Leadership

Ronda Perez has been appointed City Manager of Palmdale after almost one year in the interim role.

The City Council’s vote in favor of Perez was unanimous.

“The hire is a distinct milestone because it is the first time women have occupied the Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, and City Manager positions in Palmdale’s 60-year history,” according to the city.

The contract is good for three years and calls for a base salary of $299,750.

Perez has worked for the City of Palmdale since 2021 when she was hired as Assistant City Manager. She previously served as Executive Director of Antelope Valley Economic Development and Growth Enterprise (AV EDGE). She has over 14 years of experience in local government. She earned a master’s in criminal justice from California State University, Long Beach and dual bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice and political science from the University of California, Irvine.
