City: Located in the San Fernando Valley, about 23 miles north of downtown Los Angeles, California, the City of San Fernando is about 2.4 square miles, with about 25,000 population.  The City has a rich history and culture, a small town atmosphere, and a well-planned blend of residential, commercial and industrial development.    
Position: Under limited direction of the City Manager, the Deputy City Manager/Economic Development is an executive management position that manages the City’s economic development projects and program activities; Provides administrative support to the City Manager, City Council and Department Heads; Plans, strategizes and administers business attraction, retention and assistance activities.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in urban planning, public administration, business administration or a closely related field; and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in a municipal economic development dept., redevelopment agency, and/or economic development corporation is required. A master’s degree in planning, business administration or public administration is preferred.
