The Town of Mammoth Lakes is a year-round resort community located in the southwestern region of Mono County along the Eastern Sierra mountain range. The town is surrounded by over two million acres of forest and is bordered by the Ansel Adams and John Muir Wilderness areas adjacent to Yosemite National Park. We have a year-round resident population of approximately 8,000, which increases to over 40,000 during peak seasons. As the Human Resources Manager for the Town, you will be responsible for planning and organizing the activities of the Human Resources Department including employee and labor relations, recruitment and selection, employee benefits, classification and compensation, payroll, development and administration of policies and procedures, and employee and organizational training and development. You will also be responsible for managing workers’ compensation and assisting with other safety and risk management functions. The job involves day-to-day personnel activities, as well as long-term planning, policy recommendations, and policy implementation in human resources.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated increasingly responsible experience across a variety of human resource functions, combined with an educational background in human relations, public administration, or a related field. A passion for public service and for serving our Town employees as well as serving our local community is a must!
