Seeking a challenging accounting career? Look no further. The City of Oceanside is recruiting for a Supervising Accountant to join our fast paced, service-oriented Neighborhood Services Department. This position will supervise two employees and will report to the Housing and Neighborhood Services Housing Program Manager.

This position will be responsible for the administration and management of the various grants and funding programs, including financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and audit preparation. This role provides vital accounting and grants management services to internal employees, program participants, outside investors/funders, and a wide array of other stakeholders. This position performs technical work in the maintenance, analysis, interpretation, and management of financial accounting data within the Housing Authority, ensuring compliance with governmental accounting regulations and procedures, and knowledge of current government grant practices. This position will maintain a proficient level of understanding and management of the Voucher Management System (VMS) for the HCV program, the Financial Management Assessment System (FASS)/REAC and the Integrated Disbursement and Information System (IDIS) for CDBG/HOME. Experience and knowledge of U.S. Department of Housing and Development (HUD), Federal, State and local government accounting regulations and procedures; Authority regulations, policies and procedures is preferred.

Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible professional accounting experience including one year of lead supervisory responsibility.

Training: A Bachelor's degree with major course work in accounting, business administration or a closely related field.
