NEW #WEARAMASKCA CAMPAIGN AD SAYS ANTI-MASK MOVEMENT PUTS OUR HEALTH, JOBS AND SCHOOLS AT RISK

The California Medical Association has released a new ad as part of its #WearAMaskCA campaign.

“Choices Have Consequences” makes clear that widespread mask-wearing is one of the easiest and most effective ways to control the spread of COVID-19. California Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly has said the practice could cut coronavirus transmission in half across the state. Yet “anti-mask and anti-science fanatics are endangering our kids, our jobs, our future” by fighting this basic concept, the ad explains.

The illogical resistance to mask-wearing “is part of a troubling trend seen around anti-science political rallies, on social media and in government hearings,” the California Medical Association said in a news release. “This animosity toward science and public health did not begin with COVID-19, but it is especially lethal now.”
